Sexton Signs with MBi Sports

Another Local Athlete Signs with MBi Sports

GREENSBORO, NC— Tyler Sexton is a 24 year old, left-handed pitcher from the Triad. In June 2008 he was selected in the 31st round of the Major league Draft by the Baltimore Orioles organization. Sexton attended T. Wingate Andrews High School in High Point where he was a three year letterman. After graduating in 2003, he went on to attend Campbell University where he played for one season until transferring to Western Carolina University. At WCU, Sexton was a three year starter. In 2007 and 2008 he was named ESPN The Magazine District III Third Team Academic All-American; in 2008 he was a Lowes Senior Class Award Nominee and was named Western Carolina’s Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Sexton is now being represented by Mike Baker of MBi Sports Management, which is a sports marketing and athlete representation agency located in Greensboro, NC. Baker believes that "Tyler is that great talent that every agent aspires to represent. A tall left handed pitcher who's work ethic and determination to succeed is contagious. I love being around him. He has that good mojo!" Sextons work ethic is very evident as he was awarded Pitcher of the Week in the NY Penn League in 2009. Sexton will be reporting back to the Orioles organization for spring training camp on March 1st.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

BEATTY AND MBI SPORTS TO HOLD A BASEBALL CAMP WHILE GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

CJ Beatty’s Upcoming Baseball Camp Offers a Discount with Canned Food Donations

GREENSBORO, NC— Christian “CJ” Beatty, a 2009 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft Pick for the St. Louis Cardinals Organization, and a client of MBi Sports Management Agency of Greensboro, announces his next Instructional Baseball Camp. This event targets youth aged 7-12 years old, where Beatty will teach technique in batting stance, grip, and balance, swing mechanics, how to improve performance, reduce strikeouts, and most importantly ways to concentrate and build confidence.

In addition to motivating the youth, Beatty is taking the opportunity to give back to a local organization. A discount on the camp is provided for each camper who donates 5 canned goods to Macedonia Family Resource Center’s food bank. This center also operates the Macedonia Baseball League which provides boys and girls ages 9-12 the opportunity to play in an affordable baseball league. Beatty has a passion for baseball and wants to see all children to have an equal opportunity at engaging in the sport regardless of their financial situation. This is the foundation which the Macedonia Baseball League was founded upon, and CJ is delighted to be of service to them. To learn more about the Macedonia Baseball League browse through their website at www.macedoniacenter.org.

The odds of reaching the major leagues are very slim, but former Glenn and North Carolina A&T baseball star C.J. Beatty has been beating the odds for a long time. After finishing his first summer of pro ball in the St. Louis Cardinal organization, Beatty already had his five-year plan in place.
